Waterpark and Dress Up Day

The next two days of last week were spent at the Waterpark and at Chick Fil A. The waterpark was fun. They boys had a good time and could have stayed for 3 more hours. Ellen and I were ready to pack it up and head for the air condition.
The following day we decided to go hang out at Chick Fil A for the day. Ha! We dressed up for free food for breakfast and lunch. They boys thought it was awesome to dress up and go eat at their favorite restaurant. Mason thought I lost my mind, but it was all in good fun.

Birthday Lunch, Museum and Swimming Lessons

Last week we were on the go every single day. We would start the day off with a swimming lesson for Mac and then start our adventure with the Pangles after that. The first day we went to eat lunch with Jan and Martha Jan for her birthday. We love our Aunt Martha Jan!

After lunch we headed to IKEA and then to the Children's Museum. We had no idea that the museum closed at 4:00pm, so we did not have a lot of time to play, but the boys were great sports about it. I think they just had a good time being together.

Mac completed a week of swimming lessons through Swim Atanta. It was an excellent program with only 1 other child in the class. Each session was 40 minutes long. He learned a lot and had a good time with a sweet instructor.

2nd Tooth

John Lawrence lost his second tooth on our July 4th Gatlinburg trip. He was so proud and everyone said he looked like he was 7 years old. Just what he wanted to hear. I said he looked like a 1st grader!

Gatlinburg

We went to Gatlinburg over July 4th weekend with Nana, Grandad, Nina and her family and  Allison and her family. We had a good time! We went Tubing as a whole family, which was fun and some  family members thought was scary( I won't mention any names-Allison and Mom;). The boys loved it! Another day we went to Splash Mountain (Part of Dollywood) Waterpark. It was the best waterpark we have been to. It was huge, clean and just really super fun. No pictures of Tubing or Splash Mountain. I could not carry my camera for fear of it getting wet. Lastly, on the we way home we went on a trail -Clingman's Dome. JL was not that happy to be walking up hill, but he eventually got over it. He really enjoyed getting out the pavement and going on the Applachian Trail. We only stayed on the trail for a little while but both kids loved it!

At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is Great Smoky Mountains National Park's highest point. It is the highest point in Tennessee, and the second highest point east of the Mississippi. Only North Carolina's Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet) rises higher.

Clingmans Dome is a popular Park destination. Located along the state-line ridge, it is half in North Carolina and half in Tennessee. The peak is accessible after driving Clingmans Dome Road from Newfound Gap, and then walking a steep half-mile trail. A paved trail leads to a 54-foot observation tower. The Appalachian Trail crosses Clingmans Dome, marking the highest point along its 2,144 mile journey. http://www.clingmansdome.com/

POPsicle Sale

The boys and I attended the Annual POPsicle sale in Spartanburg about 2 weeks ago. This was our third year and it did not disappoint. Mason's Aunt does a great job ~she works hard to have a wonderful turn out and for it to run smooth. We really enjoying going and visiting everyone. Mac loved being a part of the action. He worked the stand the entire day. Last year JL was into selling, but this year he played and ate popsicles all day. Mason's cousin Sallie just had her second girl (Mary Claire). She was so precious and tiny! We loved her up and Mac could not keep his hands off of her. JL said he did not want to hold her because he did not want to break her.

A Pony Perfect Party

Henry turned 4 at the end of June and wanted to have another farm party (had one last year -they came to his house-this year it was at the barn). He had a great party and my boys had a ball! They loved riding the horses and feeding all the animals. Mac is allergic to hay and the animal hair, so Mason had to make a medicine run (forgot to bring it with us). Check out his eye in the last picture. He looked pitiful! He kept on playing and enjoying the day.  Happy Birthday Henry!
